Naturalization & Citizenship

Dallas Naturalization & Citizenship Attorneys

We assist alien residents, people not born in the United States, to become United States citizens. Our Texas citizenship lawyers assist them by filing the appropriate naturalization paperwork, including the N-400 application for naturalization. We provide clients with information regarding location of citizenship classes, testing, and centers for learning English. If you are a legal permanent resident seeking citizenship, our Dallas US citizenship attorney can answer your questions and help you through the naturalization process. Contact the Law Offices of Richard A. Gump, Jr. to schedule an appointment.

Generally, a person can apply to be a U.S. citizen if he or she has been a permanent resident of the United States for 5 years, (without any absences for more than 6 months) or married (for 3 or more years) to a U.S. citizen. Additionally, an applicant must satisfy the following:

  • Evidence good moral character
  • Establish knowledge of U.S. history and government
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and write basic English
  • Establish knowledge and attachment to the U.S. Constitution

However, naturalization and citizenship issues may still arise from international adoption of children, deportation defense claims, expired visas and expatriate declarations.
